Zachery Cray Obituary (1987

GARDINER – Zachery Alex Cray "Zack" 32, of Gardiner, died unexpectedly on Friday June 12th, 2020 in Gardiner. He was born in Augusta, Maine on July 1, 1987 the son of Leon E. Cray and Tami-Jo (Kenney) Schools. Zachery enjoyed adventure, music, concerts/festivals, humor, traveling/road trips and being outside working as a self-employed worm digger. He truly loved fishing, hiking, camping & exploring new places. He was a big fan of the mud runs & going to the races at Wiscasset speedway with his father, brother and nephew. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends & his special nephew Brian Jr., hanging out playing video games, camping & riding four wheelers. He especially liked to work on cars and projects with his younger brother Brian out in the yard. Together they loved to drive mom nuts with all the noise, tools, revving engines and driving four wheelers around the house. Zachery's happiest times in recent years is the time he spent in WA with his daughter Morgan, special love April & the many friends he acquired along the way. He was a kind loving soul that gave the best comforting hugs, smiles & laughter. Our "Zack" will forever be loved & missed and leaves behind a foot print in all the hearts of all his family and friends. He is predeceased by his grandfather Wesley C.Cray Jr, grandmother Maggie E. Cameron, maternal grandfather Robert B. Kenney, Step father Randy W. Schools & one of his cherished aunts Ethal Call. Zachery is survived by his parents, Tami-Jo Schools, of Gardiner, Leon E. Cray, of Florida; Brother Brian E. Cray & Nephew Brian E. Cray Jr. of Gardiner, Daughter Morgan A. Cray & her Mother Wendy Simmonds of WA, Grandmother Mary B. Cray of Augusta, Grandparents Brian & Janette Brewster of Florida , Special love & friend April Deptuch of WA. Several Aunts, uncles, cousins & a long list of friends. There will be a graveside service on Saturday July 11, 2020 at 1:00 pm Forest Hill Cemetery in Dresden. Arrangements are in the care of Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, Maine.
