Brunswick, Maine - Stanley D. Coutts Sr., 94, passed away peacefully on Jan. 28, 2018, at Mid Coast Hospital, Brunswick, Me, after a period of declining health. Stanley was born October 8, 1923 in New Brunswick, CANADA. The son of William E. Coutts and Ella Hanson.\r\r Before moving to Thornton Hall Assisted Living in Brunswick late in 2017, Stanley and his wife, Patricia Leavitt of Pittston resided in North Fort Myers in the winters and in Randolph, Me, in the home they build and lived in their entire 67 years of marriage.\r\r He was a graduate of GAHS and a veteran of the Navy and of the Gardiner National Guards.\r\r In 1950, Stanley, with his brother William, started, owned and operated Coutts Brothers, Inc. in Randolph, Me. Upon retirement, the business was passed down to their sons.\r\r He is predeceased by a son, Tracy E. Coutts; brother, William Coutts; sister Estelle Tyler.\r\r Stanley is survived by three children: Stanley D. Coutts Jr., of Randolph, Me.; Susan Hodgson and Husband Peter, of Bridgton, Me.; Michael Coutts and companion Jolene, of Randolph, Me.; eight grandchildren, Nathan Keliher(Annie), of Amesbury, Ma., Chenango Coutts(Rob), of Cape Elizabeth, Me., Danny Coutts(Samantha), of Randolph, Me., Scott Coutts, of Gardiner, Me., Amanda Coutts(Meg), of Lowell, Ma,; Matthew Coutts(Shawn), of Portsmouth, NH., Melonie Coutts(Chad), of Pittston, Me., Christopher Gordon(Stacey), of Kennesaw, GA.; eight great grandchildren, Brooke, Jaden, Camden, Trey, Griffin, Kaden, Taylor, and Serenity.; six nieces and nephews, Jean, Dick, Vicki, Billy, Sally, and Denis; and two special people, Rachael and Beatrice.\r\r Visitations will be held Saturday, February 3rd, from 1 to 3 p.m., at Staples Funeral Service in Gardiner, Me., with a service immediately following. Burial will be held at a later date in the spring at the Randolph Cemetery.
