Gardiner- Rose B. Fuller, 85, of Gardiner died peacefully on Tuesday February 12, 2013 at Kindred Healthcare.Born in Randolph in October 1927, she was the daughter of Earle B. and Lucy (Taylor) Fuller and attended Gardiner schools graduating in 1948 from Gardiner High School. After graduation, Rose was employed at a local shoe factory until going back to school in 1970 to become a nurse's aide. She was employed at the Augusta State Hospital as a mental health aide until her retirement in 1987. Rose was a lifelong member of the Christ Church Episcopal in Gardiner. In her retirement years, Rose loved to travel visiting Hawaii, Alaska, and England.Rose was pre-deceased by her parents, sister Paulie Fuller Holt Taylor and brother Richard E. Fuller. She is survived by her loving family, nieces Karla and Lana Fuller of North Carolina and Cathy Holt of Brunswick, nephew Stephen Holt and his wife Mariam of Brunswick, two grand nephews Christopher Holt and Stephen Holt II, her lifelong friend Jean Stevens, and her furry friend Abigail.Visiting hours will be Thursday, February 14 from 10 to 11am at Staples Funeral Home 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, where a service will follow at 11am.The family would like to thank John Van Summern MD, Ambreen Ijaz MD, the staff at the Harold Alfond Center and the entire staff at Kindred Healthcare, as well as HealthReach Hospice, for their loving care of Rose during her illness. Rose considered Kindred her home and she was happy to be there and have met new friends.
