West Gardiner - Robert E. Lanphier , Jr., 77, of West Gardiner passed away peacefully with his family by his side at his home on February 2nd, 2015. He was born on April 6th, 1937. \r\r\nHe was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Myrtle (Clark) Lanphier, his daughter, Susan Gaboury and his brother-in-law, George Bourgoine. \r\r\nHe is survived by his wife of 28 years, Barbara (Mansir) Lanphier and his sisters, Ella Bourgoine of Hallowell, and Mary and her husband, Carroll Hall of Amherst, his sons Gary Gaboury of Winthrop, Steve Gaboury and his companion, Shelly Bourisk of Winthrop, Joe Glidden and his companion Cindy Drummond of West Gardiner, and Rusty Glidden and his wife Amy of Manchester, New Hampshire, and also his grandchildren, Angela, Katy, Heath, Curt, Ashley, Sasha, Samantha, Matthew and several nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. \r\r\nBob was a 1955 graduate of Carmel High School. He retired from the State of Maine after 31 years of employment. He enjoyed hunting, bird watching, gardening, building his cabin in Winterport, working in the woods on his John Deere tractor, watching the Red Sox and was excited when the Patriots won the Superbowl. \r\r\nThe visiting hours will be held at Staples Funeral Home in Gardiner on Saturday, February 7th, 2015 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. and the funeral following.
