PITTSTON - Richard Maschino, 81 of Pittston, passed away January 14, 2019 after a brief Illness.\r\n\r\n Richard was born on the family farm in South Gardiner on October 12, 1937. \r\n\r\nRichard grew up on the family farm and enjoyed the challenged work the farm life presented. He was a hard worker and always provided for his family when in need. He worked at Marquis Boot Factory, TW Dick, Lipman Poultry, Williams Construction, Associated Grocers of Maine and finally, retired from Crooker Construction Trucking. Richard enjoyed feeding his birds, playing with his dog, spending time playing bingo, doing word search puzzles, playing competitive poker with his grandchildren, riding to Boothbay to take a boat ride, telling the stories of his past truck driving and farm experiences with friends and family. \r\n\r\npredeceased by his first wife Sylvia Maschino; Parents, George Maschino and Doris Gilpatrick Maschino; a step daughter Kim Main; two sister Ella Davis, Sister Cora Matson; and a brother Walter Maschino. \r\n\r\nRichard is survived by his wife Barbara Maschino; daughter Kim Abbott and husband David Abbott Jr, of West Gardiner, and their three children, Amanda Abbott and fiancé Brandon Sutherberg of Gardiner, Michael Abbott and Fiancé Genny Garwood, of Chelsea, Ashley Abbott and Partner, Shannyn Burns, of Augusta; a brother Elmer Maschino; step children: Everett, (Butch) Main and fiancé Diane Chaney, of Bath, Cindy Lyford, of Augusta, Auta Main and wife Marianne Roth, of Gardiner, Randall Main and wife Louise Lamarque Main, of Pittston, Melody Main and wife, Brenda Greczkowski Adler, of Hallowell, Kevin Main and wife Judy Wilson Main, of Topsham, Tina Dewsnap and husband Arthur (Rusty) Dewsnap, of Dresden, Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.\r\nHe will be greatly missed by family and many friends he made along his journey in life. \r\nThe family would like to thank all the staff at Winship Greens, of Bath for their compassion they provided during his stay.\r\n\r\nVisiting hours will be Monday January 21, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Ave, Gardiner.
