Topsham-Marcus O. Nordberg, 88, died Wednesday, Sept 4, 2019 at The Governer King Community at The Highlands in Topsham. \r\n\r\nHe was born February 27, 1931 in Leadville, CO, the son of Carl and Edith Erickson Nordberg.\r\n\r\nHe graduated from the University of Oklahoma and worked his entire career for Exxon as a geophysicist in oil exploration. His position with Exxon took him to places as California, Texas, England and Norway.\r\n\r\nAt his retirement, he and his wife, the former Marcia Joynt lived in Dallas, TX for many years. Upon her death, Mark moved to the Highlands in Maine. There, he enjoyed playing bridge and socializing with many of the residents, including the late Pritz Davis. He was an avid football fan, watching both college and professional games right up to the time of his death.\r\n\r\nHe is survived by a daughter, Amy Nordberg and her companion Lee Goodwine of Boxboro, MA, a son, Mark M. Nordberg and his husband Gary Starzynski of Litchfield, ME, and a cousin, Bill Davies of Oregon.\r\n\r\n His cremains will be scattered in Colorado at a later date.
