Louise Sarah La Fluer Chase- October 15, 1941 March 25, 2012Farmingdale, ME. Louise 'Wheezie' was lovingly named by her younger sister whom many call her.She was a very loving, caring daughter, devoted loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, niece, aunt, and a very dear friend to all. She fell asleep in Christ on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Maine General Medical Center, Augusta with her husband at her bedside; after a courageous battle of many medical problems. She was a 40 year cancer survivor.Louise Sarah La Fleur Chase was born in Camden, NY on October 15, 1941. She was predeceased by her sisters Mary, Joan, and niece Evette.She is survived by her 95 year old loving, strong, Christian mother Melora Nina Simons La Fleur of Florida. Her loving husband and high school sweet heart, who she deeply loved W. Edward Chase. Son Thomas Chase, twin daughters Tina Hagen and Tammy Brooke; who she all loved as if they were her own. She has 8 grandchildren, Michael, Katie, Joseph, Benjamin, Emily, Rebecca, twins Abigail and Nathan. Her sister Jeanette Halsdorf and husband Ted of NY, brother James La Fleur and wife Jean of Missouri, Brother Bob La Fleur and wife Mary Francis of Florida, youngest sister Melora 'Lori' Nutter of Missouri. Uncle Ed and his wife Mary Simons of Florida. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. She will also be dearly missed by her faithful dog Max and her loving church family.Louise graduated from Union Springs Academy in 1962. She took a nurse's aide class at the New England Memorial Hospital, Stoneham, Massachusetts; formally called the 'San'. She worked at the 'San' for many years; cancer war, children's wards, and labor and delivery. She also worked at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME. She cared for her mother-in-law, mother-in-laws 2 sisters. Louise was a happy, loving, caring, giving person with a big heart. She enjoyed life. She always kept her little hands busy crocheting, knitting, or sewing gifts. She loved her Pomeranian dogs, she loved to cook and bake, watch the birds at her window, liked flowers and gardening and canning. She loved to get up early and read her bible. She was head deaconess of the Augusta Seventh Day Adventist Church 235 Eastern Ave., church greeter. She had the gift of making everyone feel welcomed. She sang with Chase family Singers and choir. She was a Community Service Leader helping out with Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets. Helping to get clothing for fire victims, she was a part of Women's Ministry, She would even give sermons. She led out in the very young children's Sabbath School Class. She loved children. She was very close with her brother Bob which also was a cancer survivor.She awaits the return of our lord and savior Jesus Christ.The family wishes to thank Pastor Bob Farley, and everyone, for your prayers, cards, flowers, singing, visits, and emotional support. We would also wish to thank her doctors, nurses, respiratory therapy, lab technicians and x-ray for all their hard work. The viewing is Tuesday April 3, 6 to 8pm at Staples Funeral Home 53 Brunswick Ave., in Gardiner. Funeral services will be held Wednesday April 4, 2012 at 11:30am at the Farmingdale Seventh Day Adventist Church on Maine Ave. Committal services will take place Thursday April 5, at ____.
