Augusta-Kurt E Karlsson passed away unexpectedly Sunday December 7, 2014 at Maine Medical Center in Portland. Kurt was born August 16, 1955 to Halmar and Josephine Karlsson. He graduated from Cony High School in 1973. As a teen Kurt always enjoyed spending time on his grandmothers' farm in Vassalboro. Kurt was an active participant in the 4-H club where he won many awards for his prized goats. Kurt began working for Healthreach Home and Hospice care in 1985. For those who had the opportunity of working with Kurt, his compassion for his clients he cared for was second to none. Kurt always enjoyed his weekends up in Rockwood and Kokadjo fishing and camping. \r\r\nKurt was predeceased by his wife Linda (Rankins) Karlsson, his Mother Josephine Winslow and his brother Hjalmar Karlsson. \r\r\nHe is survived by his father Halmar Karlsson of Augusta, his son Kurt H. Karlsson and girlfriend Anna Harris and the love of his life his life and only granddaughter, Kendall , of China and several nieces, nephews and cousins. \r\r\nThe family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of the CICCU at Maine Medical Center in Portland for their caring words and terrific care. A memorial will be held at Staples Funeral Home in Gardiner, Maine on Tuesday, December 16 at 11:00am. Burial will take place in the spring at the family lot in Whitefield Cemetery.
