West Gardiner - Jacqueline A. Phillis, 61, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday September 16, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 10, 1948 in Gardiner the daughter of Katherine (Rose) Adams and Mayron Adams. She received her education at Gardiner schools. Jackie was previously employed at Hallowell Shoe, Renys, Gardiner Savings, and most recently as a homemaker. She enjoyed her children, canning for family, summer trips to Funtown, beano with her mother, sister, and friend Cindy Pushard and friend Laurel Mansir. Jackie enjoyed watching her favorite Nascar driver Tony Stewart, riding in our old cars to car shows with husband George. She also enjoyed Sunday morning services with George. Her passions were going on outings with her grandchildren, camping, movies, and out to eat at her favorite restaurants. She never missed going on the annual Santa's Village trip in October with her family no matter how she was feeling. Jackie always told everyone how she felt and there was never any doubt how she felt. Jackie is predeceased by her father, Mayron Adams, Sister-in-law Toni St. Peter, and nephew David Adams Jr.Jackie is survived by her loving husband of 43 wonderful years whom she met in the 1st grade George Sr., mother Katherine Adams of Augusta; aunt Jo Ann Cunningham of Pittston; sons George Phillis Jr. and wife Jessica, Michael Phillis and wife Angela, and son-in-law Peter McDaniel Sr. and companion Barbara Smith all of West Gardiner; daughter Wendy Phillis and companion Paul Thompson of Randolph; brothers Chester 'Topper' Adams of Litchfield, David Adams and wife Debbie of West Gardiner; sister Diane Adams and companion Jeff Jackson of Pittston; Brother-in-law Aubert 'Spike' Phillis and wife Debbie of Cove Ark.; George St.Peter of Vassalboro; Sister-in-laws Ann and husband Skip Dutil of Augusta, Sheila and husband Don Smith of Gardiner, Madeline and husband Gordon Doughty of West Gardiner; nine grandchildren Anthonie, Nathanael, Bradley, Anthony, Michaela, Amber Phillis, Peter Jr. and Nikolas McDaniel and many nieces, nephews, and family. A gathering of friends and family will be held from 4 to 7pm on Saturday, September 18 at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner. A Funeral service will be held on Sunday September 18, 2010 at 1pm at the Staples Funeral Home Gardiner. Burial will follow in the Cherry Hill Cemetery on High Street West Gardiner A gathering will follow at George and Jackie's home in West Gardiner. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Kennebec Kidney Center for their loving care and the many friends that she made there.
