Heather Marie Stangel, beautiful, beloved daughter passed away suddenly Sunday, March 16th, 2014. She was born in Quincy, MA on October 17th, 1978. She grew up in Gardiner, Maine before moving to the Boston area in 2001. She was a graduate of Gardiner Area High School, St. Anselm College and Wentworth Institute. \r\r\n \r\r\nHeather was an avid sports enthusiast. She was a swimmer, runner and played field hockey and rugby throughout her school years. She loved all Boston sports teams, especially her Patriots and Red Sox. She was a beautiful, loving, generous, innocent spirit, who gifted her family and friends with her frequent Heatherisms. Heather had a strong work ethic, who put her all into everything she did. Her love of sports, music, books, family, friends and traveling with her girls were her life. \r\r\n \r\r\nHeather is survived by her parents Joseph & Nancy Stangel of Gardiner, Maine, her sister Danielle Stangel & fiancé Clifford Albert of West Gardiner, Maine, her brother Justin Stangel & fiancée Cherryl Madsen of Pittston, Maine, sister Katie Maclaine and husband John of Windham, Maine, sister Jessie Stangel and her partner Richard Howell of Gardiner, Maine, maternal grandparents Robert & Lynne Himelrick of Crystal Lake, Florida, paternal grandmother June Stangel of Quincy, Massachusetts, special friends Michelle Vaughan, Jaimee Steiner and Melissa Jacobson, her high school traveling posse Jill Diamond, Crystal Le, Gretchen Corcoran & Erin Newcomb. Also, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended families who loved her very much. She was predeceased by her maternal grandmother, Jesse Himelrick, paternal grandfather, Ernest Stangel, great aunt, Mary Himelrick and uncle, Donald North. \r\r\n \r\r\nRelatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours are Thursday March 20th 4-7 pm and a celebration of life will be held Friday March 21st at 11 am at Staple Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave Gardiner, ME 04345. A burial will be in the spring. \r\r\n \r\r\nIn lieu of flowers donations in Heather’s memory may be made to Lustgarten Foundation: Pancreatic Research.
