Pittston-Elaine Emily Osier Crockett, 72, lost her battle with cancer on August 24, 2018. \r\n\r\nShe was born on January 2, 1946, to Virginia and James Osier; however it takes a village to raise a child and Elaine had just that. Her step mother Eva Osier, her grandparents Eva and Peter Eaton and later in life, Don and Edwina Tyner all helped shape her into a kind, giving woman. She graduated from Gardiner high school in 1964 and married Les Crockett in 1966. She loved gardening, her animals, attending church, spending time with family and sitting in her chair knitting by the window looking at her flower garden.\r\n\r\nElaine's greatest accomplishment was being the lady that helped raise a neighborhood.. Every child that grew up on Beech Hill or Jewett road in Pittston passed through her door and became one of her kids. She loved and cared for each of them, feeding as many as eight kids some days and providing a safe place for all to play every day. Troy, Katelynn, Madeline, Curry, Corey, Ian, Skye, Ben, Jesse, Amy, Heather, Hannah, Gabe, Phoebe, Charlie, Terri, Todd, Jimmy, Valerie, Allen, Jenny, Pam, Zach, Matt, Luke, and Hannah; you will always be her kids.\r\n\r\nShe was one of the last great letter writers. She never missed a birthday, anniversary or a simple thinking of you card to every friend or family member. She sent out over a thousand cards a year, to let those she cared about know she was thinking of them. The postal service will surely witness a drop in volume with her passing.\r\n\r\nElaine was predeceased by her brother Jimmy Osier. \r\n\r\nElaine lives on through her husband Leslie Robert Crockett; daughter Bobbi French and husband Scott Sirois; grandson Kasen Sirois; sons Peter Crockett and spouse Kevin Tansey and Troy Cutler and wife Cathy; granddaughter Heather Frandsen and husband Matt; and great grandchildren Hannah and Gabe; brother Leo Osier and wife Nancy; sisters Leona Fisher, Mona Knight, Cindy Quintel and husband David, and Nina Osier; honorary sisters Louise Kruk and husband Henry and Helen Trask and husband Gary; honorary brother William Walentine; cousin Sandy Nevels; brother in laws Leon Crockett and wife Cindy, Richard Crockett and wife Margaret and Kenneth Crockett; several nieces and nephews and dozens of close friends whom she considered family! If she invited you into her home, you were invited into her family. \r\n\r\nA special thank you to her friend Wilma and Pastor Gayle who spent countless hours at chemo and doctors appointments with her, you were her rock when she truly needed one.\r\n\r\nHer life will be celebrated at a later date at the East Pittston United Methodist Church. \r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, write a letter or send a card to a loved one. Honor her memory by continuing her passion for snail mail.
