Carl (Junior) Edward Jackson. 66 of Pittston died Saturday, July 30, 2011 at his home with his family by his side. He was born August 31, 1944 in Richmond, the first born son of Carl and Hazel (Martin) Jackson. He was raised in Richmond and lived most of his life in Gardiner and Pittston. He attended local schools and entered the Army in 1962, where he obtained his diploma. Following his honorable discharge, he returned home and worked driving trucks for T.W.Dicks and the Kelley Brothers. He loved hunting, fishing, woodworking and camping in areas such as The Forks, Bailey's and Orr's Islands and Beaverbrook in Monmouth. He was a long time member of the Gardiner Elks and Post 2 American Legion in Augusta. Carl is predeceased by his father Carl Sr, Stepfather Forrest Mattson, mother Hazel and son Carl. Carl is survived by his wife of 38 years, Brenda (Greene) Jackson, Daughters Sherry Paulin (Paul) and Erin Greene Martinez and Son Jason Jackson (Shana); Sisters Merlene Fyfe (Conrad), Carolyn Moody (Harry), Joyce Martin (Rudy), Patty Hustus (Larry) and his brothers Larry Jackson (Bonnie) and Gary Jackson (Diane); Grandchildren Shawna Lageaux, Shalane and Justin Paulin; Carl and Christopher Jackson and Madeline and Isabella Martinez; Great grandchildren Jayden and Ochan as well as many loved nieces, nephews and cousins. A committal service with military honors will be held Friday Aug 5 at10 am at the chapel at the new Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Mt. Vernon. Following the service a celebration of Carl's life will be held at the American Legion Post 205, Route 17 in Augusta. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carl's memory to the Maine Veteran's Home of Augusta - Activities Department.
