Pittston - Arlena Myrtle Collins, 91, of 113 Warren Road died Monday, January 25 at Glenridge Long Term Care in Augusta. She was born on March 5, 1924, a daughter of Harry W and Arbor Day (Jackson) Sidelinger. She attended schools in Newcastle. On May 5, 1945 she married Philip A Collins. During World War II she was employed at Bath Iron Works. She enjoyed tending her flower gardens and feeding her wild birds. She was predeceased by six brothers, Kenneth, Warren, Harold, Harry, Frank and Robert and four sisters, Lillian, Dot, Ida and Bessie. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Philip and also her four daughters, Gloria Collins of Chelsea, Maine, Kathy Curtis and her husband David of Palm Bay, Florida, Cindy Buzby and her husband Robert of Sidney, Maine and Tina Duplessis and her husband Patrick of Winthrop, Maine. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren (predeceased by two great grandsons, Kevin Errington and Triton Knowlton). Memorial Services will be held at Staples Funeral Home on Monday, February 1 at 10am. A private burial will follow at the Maine Veteran's Cemetery in Augusta.
