GARDINER - Alana Trupti "Legally Diagnosed with Dwarfism" Lufkin— 1988--2023 You wouldn't have wanted a somber or sad send-off. That wasn't who you were, and you certainly would not have wanted your baby brother to be writing this. But here we are, Big Sis. I'm going to write this in the way you would have wanted. You would have expected nothing less of me, I'm sure. You were the most loving, fierce, loyal, absolutely hilarious woman I have ever known. You were my first best friend, my first protector, and I'm not holding any punches here—my very first bully. Our love for each other was matched only by our brother-sister squabbles. Even when I grew to be a foot taller, you made sure to remind me that you were my BIG sister. Remember the remote? I stood up to you that first time and you didn't get mad, or upset, or angry. I remember it well. You got back up after I had pushed you, and you smiled. That was who you were. You never let your circumstances hold you back. You smiled in spite of them. You were happy despite all that was thrown at you. You were so strong. With you I learned that life was not fair or equal. Things never seemed to go your way for very long. Hospitals became a second home for you. But you always smiled. You made those visits to see you so FUN. Only you could make those situations enjoyable, and memorable. We're going to miss you so much Alana. Your presence was always felt, always there, at every family gathering and at every social event. Although in stature you may have seemed small, you were the towering person that brought our entire family together. You were the voice always heard and the hug always felt. Your love for all of us will never be forgotten and can never be filled again. But we have our memories of you. Cherished, beautiful, gut-wrenchingly hilarious memories. Sad memories. All the memories of you that we will now hold near to us forever. You would be so ANGRY, so FURIOUS to know how this went. You would rage, you would swear and yell, and maybe we would see that famous tantrum of yours, too. No, this is not your somber send-off. You would not have wanted that, so we will cry only when we know you're not looking. And in your memory, we will smile. We love you so much. PS: Is it cool if I take your TV? Arrangements are entrusted with Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, Maine. Hunky, you where always smiling and goofy. You were so much fun to be around.... aside from those firey moments but I still wouldn't trade any of it. It's hard to face the fact that your gone but the pain is over and I still feel you here every day. I do still have the EVP equipment around so we will have to play with it soon. To me you will always be a Goddess and a fulfillment of inspired text from India. I can't express how bittersweet it is to say I knew you and now to know I can't hold you. I love you hunny.

Alana, you were a good friend to many. We go way back to middle school! Always trying to lift other’s up when they were down, or make them laugh. I never looked at you as “smaller” because you were as strong as they come and your presence was big. I saw you often last winter, as you guys helped us plow. I’m so glad you got to meet my daughter and we were able to hug and talk. You will be missed by so many. May you rest in peace my friend. My condolences, prayers and love go to your entire family. We love you Alana. 🙏🏼🩷
